There's a simple thrill you get when you ride a bike. Whether it's the wind flowing across your face as you cascade down a hill or the feeling you get deep in your stomach when you roll over a bump too fast. As soon as your tires hit the dirt, you're hooked.
Our small community of South Lake Tahoe, CA has a recent addition to the adrenaline circut that is every bike lovers dream; the Bijou Bike park, a five acre dirt paradise. With pump tracks large and small, a BMX park, various sizes of slope style riding and a flow trail, you'll always have something new to try and experience.
Sometimes a simple idea can turn into a great accomplishment. The Bijou bike park was a concept started back in 2011 by Ben Fish, president and chair of the board of TAMBA, the Tahoe Area Mountain Biking Association. TAMBA builds, maintains, and advocates for new multi-use trails along with hosting really fun events in and for the community. With the help of a plethora of volunteers, and a lot of effort put forth by the city council and staff, the Bijou Bike Park opened for the public on September 19th, 2015.
Finding an avenue for adventure just became a little easier. If you're ever in the area be sure to stop by and check it out.
