During the summer of 2012 we manufactured a FEATHER Crane prototype for Corey Rich to take on this unique trip to Pakistan to document climbers David Lama and Peter Ortner. The documentation of this climb is on the forefront of adventure cinematography for their use of RC helicopters and filming at 20,600 feet. We think its pretty cool that our gear was also along for the adventure to help Corey achieve a higher production value at high altitude.
Check out this Video from Corey Rich about the RC Helicopters. It's so insane!

What I love most about film making in adventure environments is that it brings me to some of the wildest places on the planet. I am constantly looking for the tools that are light, reliable and the most advanced so that I can focus on being creative, allowing me to spend less of my time managing equipment or the technical aspects of a device. That is exactly what the Feather Camera Crane system has allowed me to do-to be fast and light and add sophisticated camera movements in some of the most remote places on the planet. I brought the crane to the Karakorum Range in Pakistan were every ounce counts. We were operating at almost 21,000 feet and the ability to use a lightweight jib that allowed me to create sophisticated camera movements really adds production value in such a wild place.
